The characterisation factor is determined by an equivalency method using PM10 as a reference.
The same equivalency factor is used as in "HCI impact on YOLL", i.e. 1.84 kg ‘effective’ PM10/kg HCl.
Calculation of characterisation factor
According to "PM10 impact on crop" there are -6.46E-03 kg crop lost per kg PM10. This will give –1.84*6.46E-03 = -1.19E-02 kg crop lost per kg HCl.
