Method Description:

The characterisation factor is determined by an equivalency method using PM10 as a reference.

Equivalency factor

The same equivalency factor is used as in "HCI impact on YOLL", i.e. 1.84 kg ‘effective’ PM10/kg HCl.

Calculation of characterisation factor

According to "PM10 impact on nuisance" there are 2.28E-03 person-years of nuisance per kg PM10. This will give 1.84*2.28E-03 = 4.20E-03 person-years per kg HCl.
