The characterisation factor is determined by an equivalency method using PM10 as a reference.
The same equivalency factor is used as in "NH3 impact on severe morbidity", i.e. 2.00 kg ‘effective’ PM10/kg NH3.
Calculation of characterisation factor
According to "PM10 impact on crop" there are -6.46E-03 kg crop lost per kg PM10. This will give –2.00 *6.46E-03 = -1.29E-02 kg crop lost per kg NH3.
